WARSOP STEBBING DIVISION 3 CHAMPIONS 2010

Founded in 1954 by the employees of Essex Carriers, a now defunct local haulage firm, we play a mixture of League and competitive yet friendly cricket against sides across Essex.

In 2009 we joined the Warsop Stebbing Central Essex Sunday League to allow us to play more competitive cricket. In our first three seasons we have gained consecutive promotions, winning Division 3 in 2010 in the process.

From 2012 virtually virtually all our home fixtures will be played on Hadleigh and Thundersley's C.C ground, which means we'll have access to much better playing facilities and use of their bar.

Our Club is made up of a diverse range of members of all ages and nationalities. Not only will you find us welcoming and friendly with a good social side but you'll have an opportunity to play a good standard of Sunday cricket.

GENERATING INCOME FOR THE CLUB - In an effort to ensure we don't charge an annual subscription and to keep match fees to just £5, we use a number of mediums to increase Club funds.

I'd ask that you seriously consider taking part in at least one of the following ;

o Monthly 'Six Hit' competition runs from April to September. £50 of prize money is up for grabs each month with £10 going to the Club. Winners in 2011 were Paul(April), Arron (May), Indy (June) and the Club via an unclaimed number in (July), Adam (August) and Ali (September).

o Via online shopping at hundreds of reputable websites. Click on the link below

Player availability

In my dual role as Secretary and Captain, it is very frustrating when players tell me at the start of the week that they are available and then drop out later in the week.

What is even more frustrating is when I get this messageg via text or phone Saturday night or Sunday morning. We don't have a massive pool of players to call upon and this often leaves us being a player short or fielding a reduced and weakened side.

I appreciate that on occasion work and personal issues may mean you have no alternative but to drop out. But for some people this is an often regular occurence.

Therefore please make every effort to keep your diaries free on a Sunday once you've committed to playing.

In 2011 we are playing the following teams in 40 overs matches home and away in Division 2 ;

Wickford

The winning side gets 4 points, 2 points for a tie and no points for a loss. We will be deducted points should we not fulfil a fixture.
